John did not seek the limelight, but bravely stood up for his right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness free from government intrusion. He will be remembered for his courage in standing up to the State of Texas, for sacrificing his own privacy in order that others might have theirs, and for caring for those he loved. May God receive and bless John in accordance with the grace God has so generously given to us all. And may we love our neighbors, all our neighbors, as God unconditionally loves every one of us.

I am very sorry for your loss. Please know that John's willingness to serve as a plaintiff in the case of Lawrence v. Texas changed history for the better. Few of us can say we have had such an impact. I hope this will be some comfort to you over the years.

I remember Johnny played the piano while Mrs. Fuller lead the choir. My elementary class entertained the crowds that night and did so with the help of Mrs. Fuller and Johnny. Thanks!
